Like it was planned, I was going to try the Back to Basics workout again. And see if the high intensity training from the past 2 weeks helped.
Today, I found that my breathing was not as hard. So I did not need to take little breaks for air. But my poor quads! They burned all the way.
The last time I did this workout (see Sept 16 post), it was completed in 13:38. And based on the research I have read, the high intensity program should not have decreased my cardio fitness. In fact it should help it.
So today, I was able to finish it in…
12:08
The first set took me 2:23. So the fastest the 5 sets could be completed is
5 X 2:23 = 11:55
So I think I have pretty much maxed this one out. And hopefully I have proved to you that high intensity intervals can improve your cardio fitness.
Next, I’ll try isometric contraction to gain some muscle.
