Becoming a monkey man: Step one

Here is what I’ve been doing in order to get to do a hand stand. I first want to get my balance right. So I start with a 3-point head stand. Believe it or not, I was shown this by an 8 year old.

I put a cushion down, a few inches from the wall. Then, I put my head on it and hands on each side and swing my legs up. I wasn’t too gracious the first few times. But it is getting better. My goal was to get my feet and bum to rest against the wall.

Now I’m working on my balancing act. I have to get my lower body off the wall. I want to balance only on my head and hands. Then I’ll be able to transfer that skill to a hand stand.
