Tim Ferris was on Dr Oz yesterday in order to promote his new book, The 4-hour body. And he shared tips on how to lose weight. Dr Oz called those tips controversial. I don’t know where he gets that from. The 3 tips have been known for a long time.
First, he suggests ice therapy to help burn fat. Well, we already know that the body needs to burn calories in order to stay warm. Why do you think Inuits can get away with eating whale fat? A cold environment will boost your metabolic rate. Nothing controversial here.
Second, drink grapefruit juice before you eat. It was reported years ago that grapefruits contain an enzyme that activates fat burn. Have you ever heard of the Grapefruit Diet? It was popular in the 80s.
And the last tip is a strategy that bodybuilders have been using for decades in order to stick to their diets. They allow themselves 1 cheat day per week. It keeps the morale up, I guess.
So these tips can help. There is just nothing controversial or revolutionary about them. Just a big marketing machine.
