I often have friends asking me for advice about how to get in better shape. And I used to be very eager to discuss their situation and help out. And most of the times, I got disappointed because they did not make the change. And all my help was wasted.
Now a days, I'm no so eager. And they don't usually like my answer. Because I ask them to show me some effort first. So I asked them to make a commitment to go out for a walk 3 times per week. And they usually answer that it is not enough. But I think it is a lot more than nothing at all.
So if you are sedentary your first step is to make time into your schedule to go for a 30 minute walk 3 times per week. Once this is a habit, it is a lot easier to make changes to the exercises. The best workout will yield nothing if it is not applied.
So keep it simple. Make the time commitment first. Changing your habit of not moving to walking is a big step. It gets easier from that point.
