The cost/benefits of new habits (Be the leader)

There are things you would like to change. Like finding time to exercise. Pay more attention to what you eat. These are all new habits that you would like to take on. But there is always a cost to new habits.

If you start going for a walk after diner instead of watching TV, it may bother your routine with your husband. If you want to eat better and your wife is the cook and she doesn’t want to change, it is a challenge.

But instead of focusing on the challenge, keep your eyes on the benefits. And show that person how he or she will benefit from you making that change, if they don’t want to participate. At least you won’t get grief from them and it will make your transition easier. And chances are they will follow after they see the positive change on you.
