High intensity intermittent (HIIT) exercise and fat loss

As you all know, I’m currently looking into the effect of circuit training on VO2. And through my research I came across an article that you will find interesting. It is a review article about high intensity exercise and fat loss. And the results are unbelievable.

Participants in the studies performed as little as 15s/15s effort/rest (like a Tabata) to 4 minutes of effort with 3 minutes rest. Exercises were mainly done on a bike or treadmill. All of them lost significant amount of fat and reduce their waist line. And they also reported improvement in cardiovascular fitness (VO2max).

You all know that you don’t need equipment to have a great workout. You can achieve the same by using jumping jacks or jump squat. And what happens if you add upper body exercises to the mix? We will know soon enough.
