The non-cardio cardio experiment: Week 1

This was eye opening. I just finished my first week of the new Jump Squat training program. I tried to use the same number of Jump Squats as the last time, so around 30. Well, when you try to jump as high as you can, it makes a big difference. By doing so, more muscle fibers are involved. And the fast tiring ones run out of gas quickly.

Anyway, long story short, I ended up doing one set of 30 and 2 of 20 with 3 minutes rest in between. My quads were burning, I was short of breath, heart pumping and I even started to sweat. It's surprising what less than a minute of hard work can do. Now, I hope it will push my VO2 up.
